Picked up what I needed and brought my boat to the house (have to store it elsewhere). Now, if I could just get the rain to stop, I could make some progress.

It's not waterproof! Don't use it.....

Here is an article that may be helpful.

If sealed in epoxy and glass (as stated and planned) it will be waterproof.

True, I just don't like the "Todays Lauan".

What wood is waterproof before it is sealed or treated? I know there are a few woods that are dense enough not to float but isn't all wood porous? I understand that because of it having tight grain and stuff it absorbs water slower and doesn't expand or shrink as much but what do you define as waterproof?

Right.

I have small pieces of scrap marine ply laying in the bushes that have not come apart, maybe a year and a half laying out there. No sealer or epoxy on them. Yet the Lowes EXT. AC I used on a deck table was sealed and is coming apart at the sides! I did that at the end of the summer. My boats get marine ply only. Pay now or pay later!

Well, it's too late as I have already formed up most of what I am building. As previously stated, this add-on will be coated/glassed. I don't want to spend too much on this work since the entire console may be replaced if I switch to an outboard in the future (currently an I/O with a split/clamshell console). Rest assured that I will use quality marine ply when I build my LM18.
