plywood Skoota interior finish for wood parts
plywood Skoota interior finish for wood parts
I was looking at the skoota plans, the 24 to the 36. the plywood versions. What is done on the inside parts of the plywood on frame Skoota’s?

The 24 is fully enclosed hulls; no access. You would seal with epoxy or do nothing.
The 36 has walk in hulls. Those you would seal with epoxy or epoxy primer.

Thanks for information. I can’t imagine leaving it uncoated, but I wasn’t sure what people did.

You have to preseal stuff before assembly on the 24.
The 24 is really my favorite boat in the world. I would modify it a bit n ditch the aft cabin for benches.
I wish I owned one, I'd take it up to lakes in Canada.

It does seem very nice. I have two kids, so I need to sleep 4 which is what attracted me to this line of boats. I live in upstate NY near the mohawk river/erie canal. so lots of cruising that could be had in that boat. Work has me tied up for the next 14 months, hope to have a plan in place to start building then.

The 24 is special. I hope you get to build it. I think Richard talked about dual engines for it as well. A couple 30hp motors would be cool, but probably short for autopilot.jonnymac wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2020 9:19 pm It does seem very nice.
