Looks like good patient work. What filler are you using that’s green?
What will be her home waters?

I’m just up the road from y’all by the Harris Neck Wildlife Refuge. Exit 67 off of Highway 95. But I get down to St. sSimons & Brunswick about once a month. My wife works in Darien. I think Pee wee is pretty close to you.

The alexseal is good stuff. Excellent coverage. I’ve done the hull and topside with one gallon. I’m gonna get another qt to finish coat 3 and the inside of the two storage hatches. Two coats really had if covered, but three no question.

Just to clarify. The cover so far is with one gallon mixed. Two quarts topcoat plus converter and reducer to equal a gallon mixed.

The boat performs really good. 27mph and dry with my dad and I last Saturday. We had to work hard for two keepers.

Those fish are too easily spooked. I found out using an 8' rod allows longer casts and more hookups after spending the whole day throwing with a 6' rod and having the captain continue to tell me to throw harder with my bad shoulder. I finally setup my 8' rod which was onboard the whole time and the captain commended me for finally casting further.

Have you tried braided line? You will pick up some distance with braid too. We were a little tight, but the area we were in usually produces for us. I’ve gotten accustomed to having the luxury of a trolling motor, which makes a huge difference. I’m planning to put one on this boat ASAP.

Is that a 4 blade prop? I tried several props and because the boat is so light I found that a 3 blade is much faster and the boat doesn't require the lift of the 4 blade. Just food for thought. I would think you should be able to hit 30 mph especially because you built light.
great job.

It’s just the stock aluminum prop. I’d like to try another one. I messed up when I mounted the Jack plate and the engine sits too low. The cavitation plate is about 2” below the hull with it jacked all the way up. It should help when I get that straightened out.

If it helps I built mine heavy, ( Livewell, trolling motor, poling platfoam, with a 50 hp). My cavitation plate is about 1.5 inch above the bottom and I'm thinking of going one more hole up. Also, the transom as designed (or at least how I built it) was too steep. I had to install motor shims to get more negative trim.

The negative trim is good. I definitely need to get it lifted though.

Chuf, when you tried your 4 blade props were there pitch size at least 2" smaller than your 3-blade pitch. The most in speed you should lose is 2-3 mph. Edd if you would like I would be glad to work up a new prop size for you if you would like. Tom
