FS14 MN build

Post by wdr99 »

Boat flipped and on the trailer. Now to finish the inside!

Sadly, my random orbit sander died yesterday….but I found a spare, so life goes on.

I don’t know if this is a build thread or not, but I’m committed getting this done by ice out.

Clean looking from 30ft, 30mph, or 3000 miles.

You can send them in for repair.

Ahh, that’s good news. They don’t exactly give them away but I really like it.

Being able to get the Festools repaired is one thing that make them worth the price.

Skiff looks nice.

I went through several sanders in my various builds. After a while I just started buying tools at Harbor Freight and consider them to be fairly disposable.

Cut and fit all the deck and bench pieces. And then I imagined the future a bit.

Great looking hull!
There are only two seasons in Vermont: boating season, and boat-building season.

Glued down the bench and the foredeck today. Determined to start painting the interior next weekend.

That's a lovely looking boat. Won't be long before she's on the water!

I don't want to come late to the party, but you won't like two chairs wide. It sucks to get around them and a boat the size of the 14 is weight sensistive. It'll list at any variation. Keep all weight on centerline.

You also have time to change it.

I ran 14' fishing skiffs for about 20 years until I came up with money for a 16 footer.

Keep all the seats on the centerline. Please
Trust me. I was gonna mention it before and must have gotten sidetracked. I apologize if it feels like a grenade, too.

my best..Dan
