Friend of mine wants to know if the TX18 could be fitted with a light cabin. I told him probably not more than a softtop.
Any way to hear from JM on it? With my 8.5" trim problem, I'm biased..

Dan, you are correct remember the TX18 is designed as a flats boat. A cabin even one made of foam will add a lot of weight that this boat is not designed for. And as you fear if not properly placed upset the COG. I am not sure what JM will say but fear he will say something along those lines.

Bimini top or a very light t-top like the below.

I wouldn't want much more than that, but that's enough for shade and shower protection. No hanging on to it though.

I am feeling better now but it was unpleasant.
Anyway, I agree with TomW. It's a light boat and can not take a cabin but a bimini top would be fine.
