Re: Bulbous bows
They drink resin. I gotta learn infusion. 8 hours of drippin sticky hard work for a lesser outcome..

Re: Bulbous bows
Looks like pretty close to perfect work so for.

The entire boat was built in epoxy. Considered VE for about 5 minutes...
Just order 6 gallons from Jeff. He has to keep the lights on..

Re: Bulbous bows
Today, I cutout the bulkheads from corecell scraps and added some layers of glass to meet the spec.
Still need to do reverse, but this stuff is medium MAS epoxy and already gelled; so probably reverse later today. I worked super fast for a 30 minute gel time.
After they are done; I have other .... to do
Tomorrow will bond the BH and the backbone into the cradle glass.
Friday will lift it out and trim it and maybe take it up to the boat for a test fit; we'll see.

Re: Bulbous bows
Will the V section you've been laminating up, after trimming, be epoxy welded to the exising hull and become the lower face of the bulb?

Yup. It gets welded using aircraft techniques of pre-releasing bonding flanges. Basically pre-tabbing to shipping tape..then pulling it off to increase the glue surface area.glossieblack wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 6:00 am Will the V section you've been laminating up, after trimming, be epoxy welded to the exising hull and become the lower face of the bulb?
