System 3 Primer

Has anyone used the S3 primer with other paints besides S3. I finally have my OD16 hull primed and now have realized that solvent based paints may not be compatable. I had intended (and already purchased) a top coat called Mothane made by BLP. It is cheap and I´m told by locals it´s very durable. <BR> Anyway, was it an oversite on my part to not automatically go with the full S3 system? <BR> <BR>

you can always make a test piece. also, it is my understanding that you can put a coat of compatible primer on top of the S primer, then your chosen topcoat. for instance, Zolatone company told me i can put their primer on top of S3, then the Zolatone topcoat on top of that.
